SB 1070

After reading the SB 1070, it seemed even more confusing. There is just so many little things in the law that makes me question more about it. They use terms that almost seem like they want it to change the real point behind it. I think the justifications that the Arizona lawmakers are trying to present is to keep people out. They are trying to keep Arizona from overpopulating but it also doesn't seem right in the way they go about it. I think that they feel that it will help minimize social and economical problems. By doing this, I think that they are putting a negative connotation on a certain type of people. This is probably causing more social problems overall with the people in Arizona.

The Global Financial Crisis

The global financial crisis has awakened many people from their fantasy life. We are at war with money. It is nice to think back to how life was before…steady income, bills paid on time, and money to spend on unnecessary things. But were those unnecessary things a great idea? Probably not. Now we all wish we could have saved that money instead of spending it. So who is to blame for our spending of money we don’t have? Could it be credit card companies, the U.S. government, or advertisements that trick us into buying things we don’t need? I believe we are at our own fault for taking risky decisions. The global financial crisis was brought upon us for our bad judgments and not helping one another on the right path. We are just as guilty as the government for not regulating what we spend and together we must find a way to come out of it without depending on the government to get us out.
We as Americans have become careless in our spending habits. We have become so accustomed on relying on our credit cards to give us what we want or need. It is up to us to watch out on what we spend because the credit card companies will not be doing it for us. We all are aware of what these companies can do to us if we are not careful but somehow we still apply for credit cards. It is not because there was some sort of scam involved that got us into trouble; it was because we were not being careful. Sure when things go wrong we are quick to blame others for our own mistakes. By helping ourselves we can help the economy also. It is like a domino affect. When one falls, the rest fall behind it. We as a nation are united as one whether we agree or disagree. We may not be in the same financial status but we all are feeling the effect of the financial crisis.
The way the federal government is running these big corporations is not efficient. The U.S. government should be aware at all times the way money is being used. If we had extra money lying around is no excuse for becoming careless for one minute. A lot can happen in one minute throughout the whole world. The government should have more regulations to avoid losing large corporations such as banks and motor industries. By doing this, these companies should become highly aware of what they are doing and how they are running their businesses.
Many claim that help from the government should go towards homeowners and unemployed citizens. Johnson states, “…as unemployment and home foreclosures rise, the federal government should improve the economy overall by directing money to people who really need it, by slowing the loss of savings and homes and creating jobs” (Johnson 144). People can not move on forward without a feeling of a support from someone. The people need to feel that the American government is there to support them instead of against them.
We as a nation must come together to step out of this financial crisis. It won’t happen over night and it might take a couple of years but the outcome will be worth it. It is time we put our energy and intelligence together to relive that less stressful life. One way is to inform everyone on how this crisis affects everyone no matter who you are. Second is to get involved with people around you to make a difference. Coming up with a way to make a difference goes a long way between a group of people.

Consumer Worksheet

In my consumer worksheet, most of my belongings came from China. I found out that thousands of workers get injured during their jobs. Working conditions are very poor and the pay is not good. The minimum wage in some parts of China is 55 cents an hour. Some factories pay less than that. I can't imagine how these people live because they are working in poor conditions at a poor rate. Their jobs don't even offer insurance for injuries like here in the US.
